Helper Counselling
Helping employers and helpers work through concerns, understand each other and move forward.
Small concerns deserve a conversation.
Adjusting to a new household takes time. Differences in language, routines and expectations can lead to frustration on both sides. Our team helps employers and helpers discuss these concerns calmly and work towards a more comfortable working relationship.
What we can help with

A chance to listen, understand and find a way forward.
Settling into a new home
Talk through homesickness, unfamiliar routines and the challenges of adjusting to life in Singapore.
Household expectations
Discuss duties, priorities and instructions so daily responsibilities are better understood.

Communication difficulties
Clear up misunderstandings and help both sides express their concerns more clearly.

Address day-to-day friction and encourage respectful communication between employer and helper.
Working relationships
What happens during a session?
01
Share the concerns
Tell us what has been difficult, with specific examples from daily life.
02
Understand both sides
We listen to the employer and helper, clarify misunderstandings and identify the main concerns.
03
Agree on the next steps
Discuss practical changes, such as clearer instructions or an arranged routine, for both sides to work on.
Before you speak with us
It may help to think about what has been difficult and any situations you would like to discuss. Note down the main concerns, when they happened and what you have already tried. This gives our team a clearer understanding of your household’s needs and how we can assist.
